For the first time in twenty years, the Wake County Wildlife Club is making a
change to the event schedule of the Dixie Deer Classic. Beginning with the 2008 show
scheduled for February 29 and March 1 and 2, the show will be open for three full days.
Since 1985, the show has been opening at four PM on Friday afternoon, but will now begin
operation at nine AM on Friday.
With this schedule change, Friday will henceforth be referred to as “Youth Day”.
In conjunction with the early opening time on Friday, a new “Youth” ticket will
be available for $5.00 for youth aged 13 through 18 (ages 12 and under are still admitted
FREE.). This ticket will only be available at the gate on Friday. Youth entry will remain
$10.00 on Saturday and Sunday. Special programs and presentations are being planned for
the beginning hunter and marksman. Groups should contact the club about special packages
for groups of 20 or more.
