The Dixie Deer Classic has been recognized nationally as the Premier Trophy
Whitetail Deer Show in the country. It was the first successful show of its kind,
and lit the spark that has brush fired into similar shows all across the nation. The show
is sponsored and presented by the Wake County Wildlife Club, and is conducted in its
entirety by volunteers associated with this award winning non-profit organization.

General Information
In 1981 The Wake County Wildlife Club created the Dixie Deer Classic to focus attention
upon the need for ethical hunting and quality Whitetail Deer Management. Since that time,
the search for North Carolina's finest Whitetail has grown dramatically in both size and
scope. However, our objective has not changed. We continue to believe that North
Carolina's Whitetail Resources should be managed in a manner that insures the development
of quality animals. Moreover, we believe improved hunter safety and ethics among young and
old sportsmen to be of equal importance.
The Wake County Wildlife Club is a one hundred member non-profit organization affiliated
with the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, the National Wildlife Federation, the
National Rifle Association, and the Wildlife Legislative Fund of America, with membership
in the Nature Conservancy.
Admission is $10.00 per person for the entire weekend and kids 12 and under get in FREE!
Just get your hand stamped on the way out and come back the next day. |
